Sons. A controversial theme, which displeases or agrees, divides or approaches; it makes points of view variable and unexpected, often forcing sudden changes in opinions. Argument with various meanings: stereotyped for some; painful or essential to others. Not only the multitudes of opinions characterize it, but also the times and contexts.
Is it so essential to have children, contributing to the biological, instinctual, guarantee of survival? Does it make sense to talk about care if the fragile and vulnerable society does not support family policies? And, seeing the object from a more remote and anachronistic point: what makes more sense, to be children of one’s own conscience, striving to live mainly one’s life or to pass the baton by becoming parents?
Faced with the fascination of remaining children forever, there are also those radical directions that often require the choice to procreate, as if it were an unavoidable necessity. But to give birth is also to rebuild, starting from the burnt one that remains on the bottom. It means breaking into history, calling oneself inside, participating in an experience that acquires the shapes and dimensions of a collective inventory. It means practicing staying in touch.
