Pierpaolo De Giorgi
Pierpaolo De Giorgi, Philosophy graduated, is an ethnomusicologist, philosopher, musician and a poet. He founded and leads “The Tamburellisti di Torrepaduli”, with whom he played in Italy and all around the world, provoking the birth-rebirth of the “pizzica” musical genre. Together with the painter Luigi Marzo, he published the well-known book “The Roads that lead to Subasio passing from Salento” (Del Grifo 1999). He translated the classic dell’etnomusicologia in Italian “The dance of swords and the tarantella” by Marius Schneider (Argo, 1999) and has published numerous research volumes.
