Meet the Collectors | Jill Kraus
‘When you live in a New York apartment, it’s hard to collect sculpture,’ says Jill Kraus. So, in 2001, she and her husband Peter Kraus headed north to find a property suitable for the art they most wanted to support. Fast-forward 18 years, and there are now 18 large-scale artworks dotted around the Kraus’s land – most of which are original commissions from artists who had never worked outdoors before. Kraus took Art Basel on an exclusive tour of some of the highlights, from Monika Sosnowska’s soaring staircase to Sol LeWitt’s little-known spheres.
